News from LCA to go

LCA to go coordinator Karsten Schischke started a blog on environmental assessment needs for the sensors sector on the website of the UK Knowledge Transfer Network. Sensor companies are invited to share their views and to get involved in the discussion. What is the benefit of applying sensor networks for environmental monitoring or for condition monitoring of industrial equipment? Although the need for such systems is quite clear, it is hardly possible to quantify the expected effect in detail. In the European FP7 project  LCA to go simplified lifecycle assessment tools for SMEs in the sensors sector, including component / sensors developers, system integrator, and users of the sensing technology, are under development.
