Webtool - Spreading the word at EMO 2013
The Vienna University of Technology (VUT), together with CDAMC, presented the latest developments of the LCA to go
web-tool for machine tools at the Blue Competence stand at the EMO Hannover. The EMO is the largest European Machine tool trade fair and took place from the 16 to 21 September 2013, with over 2100 exhibitors and 145,000 visitors.
In addition to the information available at the dedicated LCA to go
stand, interested machine tool manufacturers got a detailed insight in the environmental assessment of machine tools through daily presentations by Rainer Pamminger (VUT) at the Blue Competence presentation forum. Companies currently pay close attention to energy efficiency of their machines, the latest development of the Self Regulation Initiative (SRI) in the frame of the ecodesign directive and the new ISO 14955 standard on environmental evaluation of machine tools.
Interest in how these aspects will be implemented in the tool was high and many companies were eager to apply the tool to their products.
