News from LCA to go

The consortium of LCA to go, a European project to boost the use of Life Cycle Assessments in small and medium-sized enterprises, and Ihobe, the Basque Government’s Environmental Management Public Corporation, agreed on a close cooperation to support SMEs in their environmental activities. Ihobe volunteers to act as a multiplier in the region and to provide feedback on project strategies and methodology developments. Karsten Schischke (Fraunhofer IZM), coordinator of LCA to go, stresses the importance of having strong partners in the regions: We are happy to cooperate with Ihobe, as they are doing a great job to support their local industry. The Basque Ecodesign Center, recently established by Ihobe and regional partners, the comprehensive ecodesign guides published throughout recent years and the well-received environmental events hosted by Ihobe regularly are only some of the activities, which are outstanding approaches to assist SMEs. I'm convinced, that LCA to go can contribute a lot to these actions to find further shortcuts for SMEs in ecodesign and environmental communication, and vice versa that other regions could learn from the experiences made in the Basque Country. LCA to go and Ihobe agreed to share knowledge in the field of ecodesign and to review jointly key project findings.
